Building Character in 2010

December 31st, 2009 by

newyearsHappy New Year from Kidsmomo!

Last year, I made one single resolution: to buy all my Christmas presents early instead of waiting until the last minute like I usually do. As you can see, I don’t pretend that I’m going to start exercising or eating less when January 1st rolls around. It’s all about setting realistic goals, people… Unfortunately, I only partially kept this resolution, but hey, buying one present in November is still progress, right?

Well, in light of my half success in 2009, I’ve decided to make the same resolution again for 2010 — and I’m really gonna do it this time! No, really!

As for any more resolutions, I’ve decided I’m only going to make those for other people instead — so here are some imagined New Year’s resolutions for book characters:

As played by Rupert Grint in the movies

Ron Weasley,
From Harry Potter:

Finally be supportive of Hermione’s efforts with SPEW.

count_olafCount Olaf,
From A Series of Unfortunate Events:

Turn that unibrow into two separate eyebrows.

As played by Jake Abel in the upcoming film

Luke Castellan,
From Percy Jackson and the Olympians:

Improve my relationship with my dad.

jamie_kellyJamie Kelly,
From Dear Dumb Diary:

Be nicer to Angeline Stinker.

greg_heffleyGreg Heffley,
From Diary of a Wimpy Kid:

Be nicer to Rowley. Stop getting caught.

As you can see, some of these characters are pretty strong-willed, even when it comes to bettering themselves in the new year… What about you? Leave a comment with YOUR resolutions for 2010! (Just remember: no personal info!)
