Zoo wee mama! They just released the trailer for the upcoming Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie!

So, what do you think of the trailer? The film, based on the book series by Jeff Kinney, is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2010, and I’ve been very curious about it since I first heard the news months ago. How would they translate Kinney’s illustrations into a live-action movie? Well, now we know!

Personally, I don’t love the look of the movie. It’s just so… real compared to the hilarious art from the books. And Zachary Gordon isn’t quite the Greg I imagined — not just because he actually has hair, but also in terms of his personality; he seems a little too innocent in this trailer.
But some of the other actors do seem perfect for their characters, IMHO — especially Grayson Russell as Fregley and Devon Bostick as Rodrick. And when Robert Capron (who plays Rowley) does that talking bellybutton thing? That definitely feels like it’s right out of the book. And the cheese touch scene? AWE-some!
