The News, According to Kids

Okay, we’re already nine days into the new year, so this is a little late, but I just discovered this awesome video highlighting the hottest news stories of 2009!

Hey, is that a yawn I see over there? Wait! This video was created by a group of kids! And it’s totally like something you’d see on MTV. So check it out:

This was the winning video in a contest inviting kids across the country to made a video about their picks for the Top 10 News Stories of 2009. And the coolest part is that this #1 vid was produced by eighth-graders — even though the contest was open to high schoolers too. Boo-yah!

NOTE: This video contest was run by New York Times Upfront Magazine, which is published by Scholastic, which is where Nancy and I work. But just like with the Baby-Sitters Club, we don’t have any involvement in the magazine. (So don’t complain to us if you entered your video and didn’t win!)
