Warriors by Erin Hunter: App Review!

I’ll admit it: when I’m not glued to a computer, I’m glued to my iPhone. I use it to message my friends, listen to music, read books, and now… play with the free app for the Warriors series by Erin Hunter!
When you start up the app, you get this fun animation of two cats fighting. I know it’s supposed to be serious and dark and all that, but they way they go, “MREOW!!!” every time cracks me up.
Cats: MREOW! ... Nancy: Heehee!!! ... Cats: Take us seriously!
I was pleasantly surprised that the app had so many features, especially since it’s free. Here is the main menu:

Within many of the sections, there’s even more to delve into! For instance, there are five sub-sections in the “Cats and Clans” section: The Cats, Warrior Clans, Warrior Code, Maps, and Glossary. This will come in handy if I meet a Warriors fan who demands recitation of the code. (Hey, it’s bound to happen, considering the literary circles I run in.)
This may sound a little boring, but I especially liked reading about the different cats. For example:
Does anyone else think that Onestar looks a little chubby here?
One bummer is that there isn’t nearly as much information about the cats as you get in the books. There is some exclusive trivia, but not for all the characters. What can I say? I WANT MORE WARRIOR CAT INFO!
Another gripe I had about this section was that the pictures of the cats weren’t very big. Okay, I might be revealing myself as a future Crazy Cat Lady, but I want to see more pictures of cats — even if they are vicious fighting felines!

One of my favorite sections is the Timeline:

How cool is that? I can just slide my finger and see the progression of events in the series. I like that before I accessed this from the main menu, it said “Spoiler Alert” — thanks for the warning! (I totally ignored it).
There’s also a Trivia Game (I’m too embarrassed to reveal my pathetic score) and even a video from author Erin Hunter!
I’m a little curious how this app will update if a new Warriors book comes out, but for now, I’m pretty happy with it. If you’re a Warriors fan and happen to have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, it’ll be much less painful than carrying around 30+ books.
I would love to see this kind of app made for The Baby-sitters Club, The Mysterious Benedict Society, and other awesome series. How about you?

Unfortunately, Nancy can’t actually be a REAL Crazy Cat Lady in the future, because she’s allergic to cats. She’ll just have to stick to cat pictures on her walls. That’s… not crazy… right? Ha… ha…

I know right. THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!! I would wait forever until the first arc is finished being made into movies, then have a Warriors marathon!

This app is really good however, is it just me or are some of the answers on the quiz wrong?
I don’t think I was able to get that far in the quiz! Ergh I am a bad Warriors fan.

I just download it and my menu isn’t working. :/ I like theses book and I wanted to know what the app was like but I can’t.
I love the warriors but its not going to work so delete and redownload people it always works

My app isn’t working either… so annoying! I just bought the app today and it worked. Then this afternoon it was faded like some of yours. It is too bad because i loved the app. (I have read all of the books).

It does not work!! Someone really has to post an answer or send an email to the makers of the app.
It works! Re-download it, (Maybe before sleeping) and in the morning go on it! It worked for me, and I hope it works for you!
Did Aquapelt’s tip to re-download the app help you guys? I hope so! Based on your comments, we contacted someone who works for the makers of the app, and we’re waiting to hear back.

I tried this soooooo many times, re downloading it, deleting it, it isn’t working!! HALP
If you’re menu is faded out, don’t worry – Disconnect from the Internet, close the app, open it again. It should work that way. I don’t know why, but it does.
I’ve tried several of these but I think the best way to work it is to close out, wait an hour or so, play on some other apps, and open it back up. I recently bought the app again since deleting it a while ago just because I’m getting older and got less Intrested but because I’m reading the again I’d figure giving it another go would be good. Also try turning off your wifi, that seemed to work in the past.
I’m so sad!! It’s faded and I can’t click on it D: I tried turning off wifi and it STILL didn’t work!!! 🙁

I’m having the same problem. I looked on the reviews of the app and only 1 person had a review about how all the areas are grayed out. It won’t let me go anywhere except the menu screen and I can’t do anything. I’ve tried reloading it more than once.
I’m litterLAY UBSESSD WITH WARRIORS AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO THE SCREEN IS ALL FADDED AND I CAN ONLY GO TO THE HOME PAGE. I HAVE TAKEN ADVISE AND TURNED OFF MY WIFI NOTHING.. REDOWNLOADING IT NOTHING! IM SOOO UPSET WHY WON’T IT WORK ANY HELPFUL INFO?? (SORRY ABOUT THE GRAMMER/SPELLING IM IN A RUSH)
It could be old you know. And also this app freaking sucks like I was so excited I downloaded it then it didn’t work I deleted it and then tried again didn’t work still so FRICK
The trivia doesn’t even have the correct answers! Whitethroat and Littlecloud were sick! Not Shadowclwn spies! This app is terrible.
