A Coming EvilSubmitted by Elaina, Age 12 from New York

Rating: ★★★★½

This is a Great Holocaust book! The main character is Lisette, she is living in Paris, which the nazis are controlling. Her parents send her away to her aunt Josephines farm.

She has to share a room with annoying 10 year old Cecile. Her aunt is illegally hiding several Jewish, and Gypsy children. While Lisette is at her aunts house, she meets a friendly ghost named Gerard. This book is a great way to learn a little about the Holocaust!

A Coming Evil, by Vivian Vande Velde, is a book worth the read. This book takes place in the Holocaust, which is a period of time before, and during World War ll. The main character, Lisette, has been sent away for protection from the Nazis by her parents. She was sent to her Aunt Josephine’s farm in the France countryside.

When she arrives, she learns that her Aunt Josephine has been protecting Jewish and Gypsy children from the Nazis in her home. Throughout this book, Lisette endeavors on a journey through hiding, and learns about the harshness of the Nazis. Although it is not the best Holocaust book out there, it is defiantly a good one.
