The book “Breadwinner” was an very good book. In my opinion, this has been one of the best books I’ve ever read. I really understood the book better than any other book I’ve read so far. Breadwinner made me realize I should appreciate how I live. It helped me understand that not everyone is as lucky as I am to be living the way I live. It also tells me that no matter how many times i want to give up, to keep trying because at the end of the day, everything I do will be appreciated by somebody.
I can’t imagine how Parvana was living. For example, Parvana had to switch genders to make money for her family, so they can get food and stay alive. If it wasn’t for Parvana, her family would have been dead or in very deep condition. Another example is even before she switched into a boy, she couldn’t leave her house and she was forbidden to go back to school. The Taliban has taken control over Afghanistan so they forbade women to work and leave their houses for ever and they forbade girls from going to school, so Parvana barely had any friends. As a kid, it’s very hard growing up in poverty because then they grow up to thinking that will never be nothing or will ever succeed in life.
