This book is about the Holocaust. This book is based upon real people but with a fictional character. The main character is Lina. She, her mother and little brother Jonas were takin from there home and onto a train. From that train they were takin to two camps. On the train they were huddle in with a bunch of different people who they become very close with. This story is amazing. I recommend for ages 11 and up.

This book was excellent! I loved how it gave an in depth view on how the Holocaust felt for those experiencing it. During the book the main character Lina meets someone named Andrius. What happens was very predictable and I knew it was gonna happened from the moment they first met. Despite being a little predictable at times this was amazing. It is my favorite book of all time. Anyone in grades 4/5-7/8 would really enjoy this.

This book is great. Lina and her family were in the Holocaust. Lina is from Lithuania. One night she was forced out of her home and was only able to take little with her. After an extremely long and uncomfortable train ride, she was taken to a labor camp. Lina, her family, and everyone at the camp was treated horribly. They didn’t have the basic necessities for survival. Because of that and the cruelty of the NKVD, many died. This book is incredible and will leave you with a new definition of horrible. A lot of awful things will happen in this book that will leave you wondering why, and feeling sorry for anyone who experienced the same torture as Lina.

Between Shades of Gray was an awakening to the horror of the Holocaust. This book thought me to appreciate what what I have because you never know when it’s going to be ripped out of your hands. This was a heartwarming and heartbreaking book. This book took place during the Holocaust, the main characters were Lina, Jonus, their mother, and Andrius. As Lina’s friendship is blooming with Andrius she still has to fight for her and her family’s lives. This book defiantly had me crying by the end, I recomend this book for anyone who is up for an adventure.

Between Shades of Gray is an amazing book that is not for the faint of heart. In this story Lina and her family are part of the Russian Gulag, Lina and her family are are forced out of their home and transported to a slave labor camp where they have to live in horrible conditions. Though their situation seems grim, though they manage to survive with death everywhere and having little food and being split up with their dad. This book in extremely sad and contains graphic imagery.

I never read such a beautifully written book! This is a book you should do definetly put this is on your list to read! It is a bit harder but it is definetly worth it! It is a graphic book so it is a disturbing in some of the parts but that is what makes it THE BEST BOOK EVER!
