If you think Sherlock Holmes is the greatest detective that the world has ever known, then there’s someone I think you should meet: Her name is Enola Holmes, and she’s Sherlock’s teenage sister!
Like her more famous brother, Enola is also the star of her own book series (by Nancy Springer). And also like Sherlock, Enola’s adventures revolve around solving mysteries — in particular, finding lost people and things.
But at the start of the first book, Enola is just a regular girl — until her mother goes missing. Obviously, Sherlock is called in to help. But it’s actually Enola who puts together the puzzle pieces, and subsequently sets outs on the trail. Along the way, she gets caught up in another missing persons case — and must get herself out of quite a bit of danger.
I won’t say any more because I don’t want to spoil the book. If you want to know how the mystery unfolds, read Enola Holmes Mysteries #1: The Case of the Missing Marquess!
Recommended for anyone who enjoys a good mystery, books set in historical London, and some kick-butt girl power.
Have you already read about Enola’s exploits? Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. Or tell me YOUR favorite detective — be it Encyclopedia Brown, Sammy Keyes, or good old Sherlock!
