Anna, a young, angelic Jewish girl, lives a wonderful, contented life in a humble town in Germany. She has everything a girl could possibly ask for – fun games to play, a loving family, kindhearted friends, servants, and a good school to attend. However, busy Anna is so wrapped up in her own world that she is oblivious to Adolf Hitler coming to power in her beloved country, threatening the wellbeing of her family. Anna is ignorant of this fact, that is, until her father mysteriously disappears from the household one day, and she is told by her mother that the family will be departing from Germany to meet up with him in Switzerland. Now, Anna’s perfect life has been completely transformed; she and her brother, Max, will have to leave their cherished country behind, move to a place that is foreign to them, and leave all of their friends in the dust. Thus begins the longest journey of Anna’s life where she will face everything from trying to become fluent in another language to getting pelted with apples! As Anna moves from country to country, though, she learns that home is not the place that you are in, but rather home is being with your family, the people you are with that always love and care for you no matter what.

“When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit” is a compelling, heart-warming read that is told through the innocent eyes of a young girl, who takes on a journey from country to country and mixes all her fears, failures, trials, and triumphs all into one amazing, not-to-be-missed story that conveys the real definition of the word, “home.”
