Kidsmomo Podcast #25: “Royal Flush”
May 18th, 2010 by Kidsmomo

It’s good to be queen! At least, that’s how Karen felt while recording our latest podcast — because Nancy was sick in bed and refused to participate! Excuses, excuses… No matter; Karen still had plenty to say, all about books involving royalty:

Part 1: A rat that loves soup and a mouse that loves a (princess) pea — our mystery book revealed!

  (7:24)
Download the MP3 (3.4 MB)

Part 2: Princess power! (aka our royalty book picks) — Once Upon a Marigold and Dealing with Dragons

  (5:31)
Download the MP3 (2.5 MB)

PLUS, are you curious about the new Rick Riordan series, the Kane Chronicles? Well, we’ve got a review from Douglas, age 9! Yeah, we know it’s not exactly about royalty, but guess what — Karen was left in charge, and she didn’t care! So listen to the podcast to hear one kid’s opinion on The Red Pyramid!

Also, don’t forget: our new theme is war stories, in honor of Memorial Day. So send us a review of your favorite book related to war and check out these books about war.

But it’s not easy with persistent knights trying to rescue her, other dragons trying to cause trouble, and mysterious wizards who seem to be plotting something. Something that can’t be good.

It’s the best book I’ve read so far in my life! If I were president I would order everybody to own this book in the U.S. because it’s so good! I mean, it’s got wizards, dragons, a princess…what more could it need?

(A dedication to it’s biggest fan – me.)
