I just want to start of by saying, spy school is an AWESOME, MIND BLOWING book that I have read at least 17 times. This book made my head turn upside down. My life and Alexander’s life is almost the same because it just is. Again, I love spy school and I know you would too.

The book was about a boy who went to a spy school and learned how to be a spy but all of his friends thought is was a science school. This book was my most favorite book I ever read!

Spy School: Book Review

Spy-SchoolI’ve mentioned before that I volunteer at a charity bookstore every week. As you can imagine, I often have to stop myself from buying tons and tons of books for my own collection — which is literally spilling off my bookcase into paper bags on my floor. No joke.

But it’s not the lack of space that stops me most of the time; it’s the knowledge that if I take a book, that means an actual kid can’t get it later. Well, in the case of Spy School by Stuart Gibbs, I felt no such hesitation. As soon as I saw it, I claimed it for myself. What do I care about other people when a book like Spy School is in my hands?

First off, I loved Belly Up by the same author . But more importantly, I looooooooooooooove a good caper. And Spy School is about a kid who’s recruited by the CIA to attend a secret academy for aspiring young spies — so obviously, I snatched it up and wouldn’t let anyone near it.

And happily, Spy School did not disappoint. The action starts right away when Ben’s arrival at school involves a shoot-out, and it just snowballs from there when he is the target of a late-night assassination attempt and find himself at the center of a top-secret and dangerous ruse to ferret out a mole.

If you took my advice to read Lawless and you enjoyed it, then you should absolutely pick up Spy School. Also great for fans of Alex Rider, though this book is definitely more light-hearted (which is more my style).

Have you read Spy School already? Leave a comment with your thoughts! Or answer me this: If the CIA asked you to be a spy, would you do it?

If Karen were recruited by the CIA, she would ask for a desk job.
