This is a WONDERFUL book about a girl named Ada (who has a clubfoot) and her ordinary brother, Jamie. Their mother does not treat them well and often strikes them. One day they sneak off with children whose parents want them to be safe from the bombs that are supposed to go off. Ada and Jamie get shipped to a old cranky woman who does not want them but they soon become close. This woman treats them good, and soon comes to love them, this war really does save their lives.

This book was sad but it was happy at the same time. It was sad but happy because the main character [Ada] has a club foot and her mother never lets her go outside,so Ada sends her little brother [Jamie] to get her stuff. When Hitler was about to hit London so Jamie only was supposed to move, but Ada decided to go with him without their mother knowing. This a great journey to follow of this girls and her little brothers life. It’s an absolute awesome book.
