Kidsmomo Podcast #13: “Putting the Daze in the Holidays”

December 22nd, 2009 by

Sleigh bells ring,
Are you listening?

Actually, we don’t care. Because you should really be listening to our latest podcast, all about holiday books! In this edition: a magical Christmas tree, PB&J latkes*, and find out why Karen thinks Nancy is a freak.

    Download the MP3 (14.3 MB)

  • Traveling sprinkles, Christmas karaoke, and this week’s mystery book revealed
  • Our holiday picks (Penina Levine Is a Potato Pancake and The Glass Mermaid)
  • YOUR superstar book reviews (Guardians of Ga’Hoole, Meet George Washington, and Back to the Divide)

And don’t forget: our next topic is winter books, and it’s a special extended theme! So…

  • Check out our recommendations right now and send in a review of your favorite winter read, or tell us your favorite thing about winter. (We’ll feature our fave kid submissions in our next podcast!)
  • Then come back next week for a new Mystery Book Theater, and tune in on January 12th for the podcast.
  • AND in between, keep an eye out for Christmas and New Year’s blog posts.
  • PLUS an unrelated but hilarious (even if we do say so ourselves) new Kidsmomomo video.
  • Happy holidays!

    — Nancy and Karen

    * In case you didn’t know, latkes aren’t usually made from peanut butter and jelly. Also known as “potato pancakes,” latkes are traditionally patties made of shredded potato pieces, deep fried into delicious salty crispy bits of yumminess. (Surprise, surprise, this description was provided by Karen.)

Hello hello hello. I’m incredibly crazy. My parents did not name me Hahaha me, but they did name me a VERY uncommon name. Too uncommon to reveal.
But thank you for mentioning me anyway, because now I can say I am famous. (But really, I’ll be more famous later when my first book gets on the shelves.)

By the way…the last laugh is actually on YOU, Nancy and Karen, for mistaking me for a boy.
