The Breadwinner Book Review
The Breadwinner is about a young girl and her family who live in Afghanistan and struggles with the rule the Taliban. The protagonist Parvana struggles with the Taliban rule.
The major themes in this book are violence against people, human rights, lack of egalitarianism, double standards, inequality, family. The most important relationships in the story are the friendship between Parvana and Shauzia, Parvana and her family.
The action took place in Kabul and the majority took place in the middle of the book.
The author used some descriptive information to capture our attention.
The main characters are believable because the book is based on true events.
The person in the world I think Parvana is like is Malala because she is brave like her.
I’m very impressed that the author made me aware of the history of Afghanistan The author made me feel thankful that we have education, healthcare and a fair military in canada.
I found the book a little bit violent, suffering, cruel and disturbing at some points.
