The Breadwinner

The Breadwinner is a book about a young girl who lived in Afghanistan. Parvana the protagonist struggled under the oppression of the Taliban rule. The major themes in this book are human rights, violence against people-, double standards-, lack of egalitarianism.Double standards is when girls

and boys don’t get to do the same thing, girls don’t get as much education as boys do. The important relationships are between Parvana and her family also Parvana and her friend Shauzia.

The author helped me think that everyone is not the same. I learned how lucky we are and we have a safe country, not like other countries.I really liked the author because she had a good idea of making this book for people to learn that everyone is not treated the same. Also she used exciting and sad parts so we could feel the emotions. She also included real stuff that happen in Afghanistan.

I found the book really good because it had a lot of excitement and sadness and you could feel it.I liked this because it helped me learned that people in Afghanistan don’t have as much as we do.Also, I really liked how Parvana was helping and not always staying in her house.
