Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne is a fantastic book. Writen in 1863, it has grown into a classic that continues to baffle our imaginations. The adventure starts with an ancient incripted message that leads a curious mineralologist named Professor Lindenbrok and his assistant and nephew, Axle, to Iceland in search of a secret passage to Earth’s core. They must overcome many challenges to uncover the secrets of the center of the Earth. I was blown away by the realism of this tale and felt like I was there all the way. If you like adventure, history, or science this book is for you. It has plenty of exploration, scientific theories, and a look at a time 150 years ago, this book will please many readers. You should, however, be ready for the complex vocabulary and confusing scientific statements.
