Gloriana June Hemphill (Glory) was about to have the best summer of her life. Everything was going to be perfect. That is, until the day when they closed the community pool.
The pool is-or at least was-the place where Glory always hung out, and more importantly, where she always had her birthday party. This year is different.
There are some good things about this summer, though. It is when Glory met Laura. Laura is from up North, and this is partly why the pool closed.
The people in Glory’s town think that people from up North are trying to ruin the place where they live. Glory feels differently, but it takes courage to stand up for what you believe.
Besides that, Glory’s summer is filled with books, brownies, football, mud, choir practice, Elvis Presley, and church every Sunday morning. Plus, she has to deal friendship fights, fake robberies, and her sister’s new boyfriend, Robbie Fox.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope you decide to read Glory Be, because it is a very good book.
