The Lost Hero is a book about 3 halfbloods (people who have one parent as a God and one parent as a human) anyway Jason is the son of Zeus and has lost his memory, Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite and her dad is in a giants lair, and Leo is son of Hephaestus and has the power of fire instead of fixing stuff.

together these three have to go on a quest to save the world.

I liked how in the lost hero it uses the same characters as in the Percy Jackson books but adds Romans and more Greeks. I also like how Jason forgets his memory then goes to camp Half-Blood and surprises everyone with his gold coin. this book and the next book are my favorite books so far because I think that they are the most exciting and detailed.

being a Percy Jackson fan I was pretty excited when the book came out, so I was really confused when there was no one named Percy in this book. at the end of the first chapter I realized why Percy wasn’t in it. my favorite charter would have to be Leo. he is soo funny. i’m not going to say anything else so I don’t spoil it!

the Heroes of Olympus is a follow up series of the Percy Jackson series. The series is about Greek Gods and Goddesses. In this series the main characters in the first book are Jason, Piper and Leo, but there are other characters and they always go on adventures. And there is always some drama in the books but not a lot. In the second book the characters are Frank and Hazel and Percy Jackson! So if you believe in the the un-beivable you should read the Percy Jackson series and then the Heroes of Olympus. I think you would like it if you really like adventurous type books and you should at least try it. It would be a five star book. Or should I say five lightning bolts.

The Blood of Olympus Book Cover!

May 20th, 2014 by

Last week, the book cover art by John Rocco was revealed for the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, The Blood of Olympus. So we’ll be continuing our Cover Analysis Series where I obsessively pick apart the cover art and try to guess what happens in the book:

The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

Let’s revisit the description of The Blood of Olympus:

Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them, and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps. The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

Well, that’s a lot of information to digest — kind of like when Kronos digested his kids, right? Yeah? Yeah? A little bit of Greek mythology humor for you.

I think the three heroes shown on the cover are…

  • There’s definitely Frank Zhang (son of Ares), with his bow and arrow.
  • In the center it’s likely Jason Grace (son of Zeus), leaping in the air surrounded by lightning. He’s wearing an orange shirt, which could be borrowed from a Camp Half-Blood camper. It looks like he’s brewing up a pretty big storm…
  • On the horse, at first I thought it was Reyna (daughter of Bellona), but it’s actually Hazel Levesque (daughter of Pluto), on her immortal horse Arion. (Reyna rides the Pegasus Scipio.)
  • The three big dudes are Gaea’s giants — but which ones? From the down-below angle, we can see that one of them is NOT a cyclops (ruling out Arges, Brontes, Steropes) but the other two could be cyclopes.
  • This battle takes place where there’s a crane and columns with classical architecture — is there some construction going on in Athens?
  • The giants like to use weapons as hair accessories. Who do you think does that giant’s braids?

Check out the scorecard for who appears on which book covers — Nico’s “people” should start campaigning for him to be on covers!

The Staff of Serapis by Rick RiordanAlso, if you want to get a sneak peek at the first chapter of The Blood of Olympus and have a way to read digitally, you can get the chapter as a bonus with a new short story by Rick Riordan called The Staff of Serapis — Annabeth Chase and Sadie Kane (from the Kane Chronicles) meet!

So, what do you guys think — do your eagle eyes spot any other clues on the new cover?

This is one of the best books that involves history, adventure, and action. After falling into the pit of Tartarus, Percy and Annabeth must make it to the doors of death without gaining attention. On the overworld Leo, Jason, Piper, Hazel, and Nico must reach the doors of death on the other side to save Percy and annabeth and stop Gaea from awakening!

This book is so awesome. A kid named Percy Jackson has no memory. He is trying to kill these gorgons but they keep reforming over and over again. But it turns out Thantos the protector of the doors of death has been captured. Can percy and his friends complete the quest? Can Percy get his memory back?
